Cadillac Escalade
We see most Escalades in blacked-out stealth or with super flashy chrome 24-inch wheel rims, but this is the first time we've seen a mirror-finish 'lac. And oddly enough, this was just step one. It was later finished with second gold layer.

Horacio Pagani was greatly inspired by fellow Argentinean Juan Manuel Fangio, who eventually introduced a young Pagani to key personnel at both Lamborghini and Ferrari. Fangio’s long term ties to Mercedes-Benz resulted in the use of AMG engines in Zonda models, and its fitting that Pagani would honor his mentor with an unique edition of the Pagani Zonda supercar.

RM Auctions 2012 has put together more than 90 cars for the 2012 Monaco sale, which include one of two 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spiders ever built; a 1966 Ferrari 206 S Dino Spyder; 1953 Ferrari 375 MM Spider; and the Ferrari-engined Hydroplane racing boat, ARNO XI. Also on offer, a pair of Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 sports racing cars; an ex-Fangio 1950 Talbot-Lago T26 GS and so on.

Crashed race cars are certainly not a pretty sight. On March 31st, Turner Motorsports driver Michael Marsal, who we followed as he got ready for the 24 Hours of Daytona, and then as the Turner Motorsports Team Chased triumph during the race, experienced a crash during the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race at Barber Motorsports Park. He was uninjured, but the car didn’t do so well: the 97 BMW M3 was totaled.

Putting an emphasis on the importance of the Chinese market to its future achievement, British sports car maker Lotus revealed a new model custom-made for China at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show this week.

Competition in the subcompact market gets hotter in June while the Dodge Dart goes on sale. Dodge has released its pricing and, as promised it begins at a very competitive $15,995 for the base SE model. This undercuts pricing for the Ford Focus, Chevrolet Cruze and Toyota Corolla but is a few more than the Honda Civic.

The 2012 Monte Carlo Concours was planned earlier than last year provided the requirement to fit in with Monaco’s event schedule, particularly the Formula One GP and the biennial Historic Grand Prix. Even so, the weather was wonderful: warm, dry and clear blue skies every day.
